Tonttuovi The Elf Door

Tein tänä vuonna useita tonttuovia ystävilleni. Oma tonttuoveni näyttää tältä. Marraskuusta lähtien kuulin iltaisin ja öisin, kun oven saranat narahtelivat. Tontut sieltä kurkistelivat minua, arvelen. En nähnyt niitä koskaan kuitenkaan.

I did this year many elf doors for my friends. My own door looks like this. Since November, I heard in the evenings and at nights when the door hinges snapped. The elves gave a peek at me, I guess. I never saw them, however.

Iivarin kiireet Iivari´s hurry

 Myös Iivari on ollut kiireinen eilen. Kurpitsat piti viedä varastoon.

Iivari has been busy yesterday, too. He had to bring the pumpkins into the cellar storage.

 Kurpitsat kasvoivat tänä vuonna hyvin. Sää oli niille suotuisa.

The pumpkins grew well this year. The warm weather was good for them.

Siirillä ja Iivarilla on varastossa paljon mehuja, hilloja ja vihanneksia.

Siiri and Iivari have a lot of juice, jams and vegetables in their cellar storage.

 Siellä on myös hedelmiä, perunoita, porkkanoita, sipuleita ja viljaa.

They have also many kinds of fruit, potatoes, carrots, onions and grain.

 Talvi voi tulla, sillä Siirillä ja Iivarilla on tarpeeksi elintarvikkeita talvea varten.

Winter can come, because Siiri and Iivari have got enough food for winter.

Tänään Today

Tällä viikolla sataa ehkä lunta. Siirillä on istutuspöydällä kaikenlaista tavaraa, jotka pitäisi korjata pois.

This week we´ll get snow, maybe. Siiri has many kinds of things on her potting bench. She should bring them away.

Siiri on kerännyt luonnosta vähän kaikenlaista.

She has collected many kind of materials.

Siiri tykkää tehdä joka vuosi kranssin kauniista syksyn lehdistä.

Siiri loves to make a wreath every year of beautiful autumn leaves.

Hän on ulkoillut metsässäkin ja tuonut mukanaan katinliekoja. Ovat kivan näköisiä. Eikö?

She has been also in a forest and brought with her the flowers that are on the right side of the picture. Do you like them?

Siiri löysi luumuja minun puutarhastani. Ne täytyy viedä sisälle ensi tilassa ja herkutella siellä.

Siiri found blums in my garden. She has to take them in and eat there.

Uusi villatakki A new cardigan

Voi että minä tykkään tästä hiirestä. Sen vuoksi virkkasin hänelle uuden villatakin, joka on puuvillainen. Lankana oli käsinvärjätty monivärilanka Venne 40/2 ja muliinilangan yksi säie.

I love this mouse a lot.  That is why I  crocheted a new cardigan for her.

Tuoreita kukkia Fresh flowers

Siiri on auttanut minua puutarhatöissä. Palkan sijaan hän halusi minulta kukkien taimia omaan puutarhaansa ja kukkia asetelmia varten.

Olohuoneen pöydälle hän teki tälläisen kukka-asetelman. Tunnistko kasvit? Valkoiset ovat koiranputkea ja keltaoranssit ovat kultatyräkin siemenhahtuvapalloja.

Siiri has helped me in gardening. She wanted insted of money some plants for her own garden and flowers for arrangements.

She made this kind of flower arrangement for the table of the living room. Do you recognize the flowers? The white ones are Anthriscus sylvestrises and the yellow-orange ones are Euphorbia  polychromas. The flowers of it are yellow but after flowering the seeds begin to ripen in these kinds of balls and they look like this.

Keittiön pöydällä on samoja kukkia.

Same kind of flowers also on the kitchen table.

Televisiohuoneen pöydällä on violetti asetelma. Se on ruoholaukan yksi kukka.

In the TV-room there is an arrangement of violet Allium schoenoprasums on the table. I mean one flower.

Mutta mitä nämä isossa vaasissa lattialla olevat kukat ovat? Näitä on todella vaikea tunnistaa. Ne ovat niitty-/ojakellukan pähkylöitä eli kukkimisen jälkeen kukat muuttuvat tälläisiksi.

But what are these flowers in a big vase on the floor? It is difficult to identify these flowers. They are Geum rivales. The flowers become after flowering like this.

Tarjotin Eggshell mosaic tray

Iivari on tänään tehnyt tarjottimen, jonka hän koristeli munankuorimosaiikilla.  Hän maalasi munankuoripalat vihreällä ja oranssilla akryylivärillä sekä lopuksi lakkasi koko tarjottimen.

Iivari has made today a tray which he decorated with eggshell mosaic. He painted the small eggshell pieces with green and orange acrylic paint and varnished the whole tray in the end.

Iivari oli ollut poissa jo monta tuntia ja Siiri tuli etsimään häntä verstaalle. "Hei Iivari! Täällähän on kova sotku. Mitä sinä teet täällä?"

Iivari  had been away many hours and Siiri came to look for him at the workshop. "Hello Iivari! What a mess. What are you doing here""

"Voin auttaa Sinua lakaisemisessa. Yhdessä se onnistuu nopeasti."

"I can help you in sweeping, Together we will do it fast,"

"Olet Siiri aivan oikeassa. Minä voin ottaa tämän ison luudan."

"You're right, Siiri. I can take this big broom."

"Tämä tarjotin on tosi kiva. Olet valinnut sopivat värit. Tykkään tästä tosi paljon. Kiitos Iivari!"

"This tray is very nice. You have chosen the right colors. I like this very much. Thank you Iivari!"

Dioramalaatikko The Dioramabox

Nina lähetti tälläisen erikoisen dioraamalaatikon Siirille. (Lukekaa Ninan blogista tarkemmin, miten hän on laatikon tehnyt ja mitä hän siitä kirjoittaa.) Siiri mietti kauan, mikä olisi sille sopiva paikka. Tässä laatikko on vielä lattialla.

Nina sent a special diorama box for Siiri. (Read from her blog closer to find out how she did the diorama and what she writes about it.9 Siiri thought long, what would be the right place for it. In this photo the box is still on the floor.

Lopultakin sille löytyi hyvä paikka lastenhuoneen seinältä. Kiitos Nina lahjasta! Toivottavasti Siirin ja minun lahjani tulevat pian Sinulle.

Finally siiri found a perfect place for it on the wall of the children´s room. We hope that you´ll receive Siiri´s and my gifts to you, soon.

Siiri ja Iivari viettivät mukavan joulun. Koristeista on mukava nauttia edelleen. Tässä on kuva Siirin ompeluhuoneen kaapistosta.

Siiri and Iivari spended a very nice Christimas. It is nice to enjoy the Christmas decorations yet. This picture is of Siiri´s cabinet in her sewing room.

 Kaapin ovessa riippuu värikkäin palloin koristeltu kranssi.

There are colorful ornaments in the wreath. The wreath is at the cabinet door.

Iivari on tehnyt tämän puisen kynttelikön muutama vuosi sitten. Siiri tykkää siitä.

Iivari made this wooden candelabra some years ago. Siiri loves it. 

 

Iivari on työskennellyt tänään verstaassaan ja tuli pyytämään Siiriä kahville.

Iivari has worked in his workroom today and is asking Siiri for a cup of coffee.

Siirillä on meneillään mielenkiintoinen virkkaustyö. Se on vasta ihan alussa, mutta valmistuu nopeasti.

Siiri has a very interesting crochet work under progress. It is in the beginning yet,but it will be finished very soon.

Virkkaus jäi pöydälle ja Siiri meni Iivarin kanssa kahville.

Siiri went for a cup of coffee with Iivari and she left her chochet work on her desk.
